Handmade Wooden Play Kitchen 2 --- Cocinita de madera hecha a mano 2

Hello Everyone! It's been a while but I haven't forgotten about you, I've just been very busy, I have lots of new things to show you but first I really wanted to show you our 2nd DIY kitchen for a very special girl! if you want to see my creations more often check my facebook page where I post often https://www.facebook.com/ThisThatAndTheOtherCrafts
As the other Kitchen we made (which you can see  here) this one has been up-cycled from and old TV stand.
I forgot to take a pic of the original piece but I have one when it had very little work done.
I hope you like it and if you want to share it's fine but please please link to this page so credit is given where it belongs! :)

----------

Painted in light pink with lots of details like a real kitchen, red gingham curtains and a lovely photo of the family above the sink, it does look lovely doesn't it!
What I really like of these kitchens is that the kids really enjoy them, they play every day, they are totally unique and they last for years!!

Hello everyone!
I have been meaning to do this post since Matilda's 1st Birthday! And here it is a month later!
This cute little kitchen was her birthday present from "Papi" and "Mami", we made it so it was ready for her birthday, it is made out of an old TV stand and I think it turned out quite nice.
I really like (looove) play kitchens and play food since I was little and I wanted Matilda to have her very own one, I thought it was the perfect present for her birthday! I wanted a wooden one as I think they look way better than the plastic ones and they are more durable ( good point, specially with a little one who loves banging things against each other!) but I soon realized that they were more expensive than I had thought (waaay more expensive) so we decided to build one instead and to be honest I enjoyed this project quite a lot (despite the fact that it took 4 coats of paint plus the primer).
Thanks to "Papi" Matilda has a great kitchen at a very low budget and the best part is that she plays with it every day! (more than 3 min which is her average with everything else). I couldn't have done it without him, he was in charge of the "measuring, sawing, drilling and hammering" and I was the one in charge of the "designing, painting, sewing, painting, painting".
Now we are working on a play fridge! what a lucky girl! ;)
If you have a little one I assure you that it will be the best present you can get him/her so don't think twice, get yourself a piece of furniture that you can convert into the perfect play kitchen!!

It doesn't usually look this tidy ;0)

"La Abu" bought the cutest little set of pans and pots for Matilda and the rest of the pottery, tea set and play food were presents for her birthday.

Tiger Chair (grrrrrr!)

This chair is a revamp of a modern one, personally I think it looks much better now! It was a bit boring before ;0

Nursery wardrobe and chest of drawers

This time I used a very nice 50s wardrobe (which was ideal for the nursery as the size is smaller than regular ones), I really liked the way it was originally but it didn't match with the nursery!

BEFORE

Then I got some shelves fitted to make it more practical a nice knob and a handmade felt doll and voila!

AFTER

With the chest of drawers was pretty much the same, I used the same colors but in a slightly different way and added some handmade pendants to the handles. Cute ;0

Chest of drawers used as changing unit by placing a changing mat on top!

Nursery rocking chair

This is a rocking chair that I did for Matilda's nursery, I wanted an old style one but with a modern look so with a bit of paint and some decoupage this is what it looks like.

It was a lot of work but it was worth it! It looks great with a couple of cushions and is very comfy!

BuTteRflieS !
