Handmade Wooden Play Kitchen / Cocinita de madera hecha a mano
Hello everyone!
I have been meaning to do this post since Matilda's 1st Birthday! And here it is a month later!
This cute little kitchen was her birthday present from "Papi" and "Mami", we made it so it was ready for her birthday, it is made out of an old TV stand and I think it turned out quite nice.
I really like (looove) play kitchens and play food since I was little and I wanted Matilda to have her very own one, I thought it was the perfect present for her birthday! I wanted a wooden one as I think they look way better than the plastic ones and they are more durable ( good point, specially with a little one who loves banging things against each other!) but I soon realized that they were more expensive than I had thought (waaay more expensive) so we decided to build one instead and to be honest I enjoyed this project quite a lot (despite the fact that it took 4 coats of paint plus the primer).
Thanks to "Papi" Matilda has a great kitchen at a very low budget and the best part is that she plays with it every day! (more than 3 min which is her average with everything else). I couldn't have done it without him, he was in charge of the "measuring, sawing, drilling and hammering" and I was the one in charge of the "designing, painting, sewing, painting, painting".
Now we are working on a play fridge! what a lucky girl! ;)
If you have a little one I assure you that it will be the best present you can get him/her so don't think twice, get yourself a piece of furniture that you can convert into the perfect play kitchen!!
It doesn't usually look this tidy ;0)
"La Abu" bought the cutest little set of pans and pots for Matilda and the rest of the pottery, tea set and play food were presents for her birthday.
I hope you like it!

Red & Pink 1st Birthday Party / Fiesta de Cumpleaños en Rojo y Rosa
Matilda is one year old!!
I had been planning the birthday for a couple of months and I started with the decorations, invitations, favors, etc a month ago. I wanted everything to be handmade or as much of it as possible. After some web searching ( visit Paula's blog at blog holamama for great birthday parties and more ) and the ideas I had in mind everything turned out quite nice and what I like the most is that it was on a low budget!
We celebrated it at home and had all Matilda's little friends round, everything went perfect!
We had great fun and the little ones were brilliant.

The entrance so everybody knew where the party was!

This one ended up smashed by little hands! a lot of fun!
Coffee, Tea, Sugar
These were the favors given to the little guest, homemade jam, each of them had the guest's name engraved on the jar and spoon.
My sweet little girl who was on her best behavior, she enjoyed every minute of the party!
I hope you like it!!

Birthday Hat / Gorro de Cumpleaños
Matilda has got her party hat already!
I'm not sure how long she will wear it for, when I tried it on her it lasted for 2 seconds!!
We'll see, I may be lucky and have time to get a shot! :)

Pink & Red Birthday !
Matilda's first birthday decorations are on their way!!
Have you seen Pink & Red together? I used to hate it when I was little but I love it know!!
The invitations are done and some of the decorations as well.
I'm very excited of how everything is gonna look!
I have to thank Paula from blog*holamama because her great blog gave me the inspiration to start creating this very special birthday Party!
These are some of the food sticks for the party, I'll continue to put some pics up but not too many so you see the whole thing at the end, once is done!

DIY Cake Stand
I'm getting ready for Matilda's first birthday!
I'm planning on doing all the decorations myself (it looks very nice in my head, lets see how it turns out!)
This is one of the first things I've made.
Is so easy you can make your own one, you just need a vintage plate (or one that you like) and a pretty candle holder, glue them together and voila!
